ACCA welcomes IASB advisor to its Research Committee

Günther Gebhardt joins the Committee

01 Mar 2007

ACCA is delighted to announce that Professor Günther Gebhardt, a member of the IASB Working Group on Financial Instruments, has accepted ACCA's invitation to join its Research Committee.

An internationally active contributor and highly respected member of the accounting profession, Günther holds a number of other influential posts, including Chairman of the Financial Reporting Standards Committee of the European Accounting Association, and Vice-President (Research) of the International Association of Accounting Education and Research.  Günther is Chair of Accounting and Auditing at J.W. Goethe University, Germany, where he is also Chairman of the University's Accounting Department.

The addition of Professor Gebhardt to the Research Committee closely follows that of Dr David Guy, Head of Knowledge Transfer at the ESRC (Economic and Social Research Council) and marks another clear endorsement of the quality and policy relevance of our Research Committee's activities.
