HMRC Offshore Disclosure Facility

Guidance from ACCA

Guidance in relation to the recently announced the UK's HM Revenue & Customs' (HMRC) Offshore Disclosure Facility can now be viewed by clicking on the link under 'related documents'.

It contains useful guidance and a template letter for contacting clients.

Key dates in respect of this HMRC initiative are as follows:

  • Now:  Banks will be writing to their clients about details they have given to HMRC.
  • 22 June 2007:  HMRC must be notified by this date of the intention to disclose.
  • 26 November 2007:  Full disclosure must be made by this date, and all outstanding liabilities, including interest and penalty paid.
  • 30 April 2008:  HMRC will accept or reject the disclosure by this date.
