Global Reporting Initiative Readers' Choice Awards shortlist announced

78 sustainability reports reach the final stage

14 Jan 2008

78 sustainability reports have made the shortlist of the inaugural GRI Readers' Choice Awards. Nearly 800 entries were received from over 100 countries and the shortlisted reports were selected on the basis of:

  • the highest volume of scores received
  • the widest diversity of scorers (employees, media, civil society, investors, management and governance, etc)

Some of the world's most recognisable brands have made the shortlist, including Bayer, Telefonica, Nokia, BP, ABN Amro, GE, Coca Cola and GAP. In addition, the list also includes large companies from emerging markets such as Petrobras and Natura (Brazil), Chilectra (Chile), Tata Motors and ITC (India), PeMex (Mexico) and Sasol (South Africa).

Scoring will close on 31 January, so if you are a reader of sustainability reports, this will be your final chance to participate in the 2008 awards. Login at Readers' Choice Awards Readers' Choice Awards - opens in a new window to score the shortlisted reports that are of interest to you. Don't miss this chance to send a message to the organisations you have a stake in and let them know what is good and not-so-good about their sustainability reports.

What happens next?

The winners will be announced at the Global Conference on Sustainability and Transparency in Amsterdam on 7-9 May 2008. We hope you will be able to attend.
