Brands of the Year
ACCA Pakistan success
28 Nov 2008
ACCA Pakistan has been named as winner of the Brands of the Year Award in the Professional Accountancy Programme category at a ceremony in Karachi.
The awards programme, which is a public-private partnership initiative aimed at creating an awareness of brand importance and encouraging healthy brand competition in Pakistan, recognises ACCA Pakistan's brand popularity, strong stakeholder confidence and high-level customer satisfaction. The judging process was undertaken by a consumer survey conducted by Brands Bureau International.
In accepting the award, Arif Masud Mirza, head of ACCA Pakistan, said that it was an honour to be acknowledged as a winning brand at national level. He added that while brand visibility is essential, it is important to live by the brand's values, adding that ACCA's image is down to its community of ambassadors who live by its core values of opportunity, accountability, integrity, diversity and innovation.
The prime minister, Mr Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani, addressed the delegation and praised the contribution made by the country's business people to Pakistan's economy, encouraging them to maintain a high level of service and performance standards. He said that the economic and industrial development of the country depends significantly on brand success and initiatives like brand awards, not only to promote healthy competition among leading organisations, but also to increase their awareness of consumer preferences.
The Brands of the Year awards programme was organised by the Government of Pakistan in partnership with the Intellectual Property Organization (IPO), the Pakistan Standard Quality and Control Authority (PSQCA) and the Exhibitor and Pakistan Export Cooperation, and was supported by the Trade Development Authority Pakistan (TDAP).
