05 Apr 2007

It's never too early to start thinking about your CPD, so why not take advantage of an exciting new course from Mentor, one of ACCA's approved e-learning providers?

Mentor's latest course offering is International v UK & US GAAP: The Key Differences. The course is presented by Guy Loveday, joint author of Butterworth's Financial Reporting and Accounting Service and occasional course presenter for ACCA. This three hour video-streamed course provides a topic-by-topic examination of the key measurement differences between UK, US and international standards including:

  • progress towards convergence with International Accounting Standards
  • comparison of the financial reporting framework
  • summary of the main differences
  • foreign currency translation
  • tangible fixed assets
  • intangible assets and goodwill
  • impairment
  • leasing
  • investment properties
  • financial assets and liabilities
  • pensions
  • deferred tax
  • revenue recognition and substance
  • cash flow statements
  • business combinations including fair values.

E-learning offers members a flexible way to fit CPD into their busy working lives. It can be accessed at a time that suits you and can be revisited as many times as required, making it a useful source of reference. At £50 + VAT (where applicable) it's also a cost-effective way of maintaining your knowledge on this subject. Interested?
