UK MEMBERS – HELP US IMPROVE GOVERNMENT POLICY
01 Sep 2009
Do you, your clients or business associates invest by buying equity stakes in – and actively supporting – start-ups or other promising businesses? Have you or any of your clients received investment of this kind? If so, please help us improve government policy and support business angels in the UK.
Business angels are individuals who invest on their own, or as part of a syndicate, in high-growth businesses. In addition to money, business angels often make their own skills, experience and contacts available to the businesses they invest in. The UK Government is keen to encourage and support these investors, but needs information in order to develop good policies. It has therefore asked a group of select private sector organisations to help develop and promote a survey of business angels.
The survey will take no more than five minutes to complete and is strictly confidential. Individual responses will only be accessible to the research team contracted by BIS and will not be shared with any government department or other third party. Its findings will help ACCA make the case for tangible support for business angels, from improved tax incentives to administrative assistance.
We would be grateful if you could forward this invitation to any clients, colleagues and business associates that you think might be interested in taking part. Please note that the survey is addressed to business angel investors only.
