Corporate Governance & Social Responsibility conference
ACCA and CICPA co-organised the ‘Corporate Governance & Social Responsibility’ conference in February. Senior officials from CICPA and the Chinese Securities and Regulatory Commission (CSRC) addressed over 200 attendees from local CPA firms, key universities and professional body members.
Forum of Corporate Development and Intermediary Services for Chinese CPA firms
ACCA and the Beijing Institute of CPAs (BICPA) co-hosted a business seminar entitled the ‘Forum of Corporate Development and Intermediary Services for Chinese CPA firms’ in August.
GRI Sustainability Reporting Guidelines
ACCA and the China Business Council for Sustainable Development (CBCSD) co-organised a workshop in April. ACCA executive director, Roger Adams gave a lecture on GRI Sustainability Reporting Guidelines to representatives from business, China Society for Sustainable Development, Administrative Centre for China's Agenda 21, Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference and BICPA.
Sponsored by ACCA, the Chinese language publication of the GRI Sustainability Reporting Guidelines was launched in Beijing in November.
First Job Hunting Competition
The Job Hunting Competition was first launched by ACCA Shanghai in September and has now become a nationwide competition for university students from most major universities in China. Over 5,000 students participated in 2008’s competitions held across the country.
ACCA newsletterfocus China launched
The quarterly newsletter, focus China was launched in November and now has a circulation of over 25,000 readers comprising ACCA members, students, academics, tuition providers, local employers and related accountancy bodies in mainland China.
