Championing the value of audit

Robert Stenhouse, director, national accounting and audit at Deloitte introduces the Global Forum for Audit and Assurance, which will provide input into audit standards setting, and in particular to influence the development of appropriate ISAs (International Standards on Auditing). It will also help identify, evaluate and champion new and alternative forms of assurance, which bring value to investors, business and the public.

Robert has been a member of ACCA’s Council since 2009 and served as chairman of ACCA’s Auditing Committee. He is a director of national accounting and audit at Deloitte in London, specialising in auditing technical matters. He previously worked for Lyon Pilcher Chartered Accountants in Southampton.

David is responsible for developing and communicating ACCA policy to influence auditing and assurance standards and related matters.

 

He is chairman of the Auditing Expert Group of the European Federation of Accountants and Auditors for SMEs, and a member of the Auditing Working Party of the Fédération des Experts Comptables Européens and the FRC International Committee.

Before joining ACCA in June 2000, David was national technical director of Moores Rowland, then part of the ninth largest international accounting network. Before that, he was a senior manager in the technical departments of both Grant Thornton and Ernst & Young.
