Learn fundamental principles of Islamic finance, major Islamic financial contracts and the conditions for their validity and the requirements for their permissable uses in modern Islamic banking. - Learn major characteristics of some of the Islamic retail (like investment accounts and mortgages etc.), corporate ( eg: working capital facilities etc.) and investment products (like mutual funds and other investment vehicles etc.) - Be able to differentiate between Islamic and conventional products on the basis of Sharia rules governing financial contracting in Islam. - Gain a good understanding of different stock selection criteria being used by different Islamic investment funds. - Develop a basic understanding of how to structure Islamic financial products with the help of classical Islamic contracts.
