Student removed from register

On 10 March 2009, the Disciplinary Committee considered an allegation against Mr Christopher Vasquez of Trinidad and Tobago, West Indies.  The allegation that Mr Vasquez was guilty of misconduct by reason of falsifying and manipulating accounting records, and thereby misappropriating $133,383.37 (Trinidad and Tobago Dollars) between 1 July 2006 and 6 June 2007, contrary to the Fundamental Principle of Integrity, was found proved.

The Committee ordered that Mr Vasquez be removed from the student register, pay costs of £820 and that the decision should be published by issuing a press release to ACCA’s website and local press referring to the student by name.

Mr Vasquez appealed against the orders of the Disciplinary Committee. The Appeal Committee met on 16 July 2009 to consider Mr Vasquez’s application for permission to appeal. The Committee refused permission to appeal and ordered appeal costs of £400.
