Nationwide Talent Compete for the First Job Hunting Competition China Grand Final Championship
The Job Hunting Competition has been a region-wide competition held by ACCA (The Association of Chartered Certified Accountants) in Hong Kong, Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou. The inaugural Job Hunting Competition- China Grand Final will be held in Hong Kong tomorrow (12 July) at the Conrad Hong Kong. The top winners of the regional Job Hunting Competition in each of the four cities with a total of 12 grand finalists will be taking part in the Job Hunting Competition - China Grand Final and competing for the Grand Championship.
The competition is aimed at helping students to equip and ready themselves with the necessary skills required by today's employers through a realistic recruitment setting on stage and has become one of the signature campus events. The Competition was first held in Shanghai in 2004 and then launched in Hong Kong, Guangzhou and Beijing. There were over 5,000 university students in these four locations registered in 2008 to participate in the campaign, covering nearly all major universities in China.
A series of screenings were conducted in respective locations before they came to the final round of the Competition. Short-listed candidates are first required to prove their command of English, tested via the BULATS English Test. Further screening was conducted via group interview sessions and meeting with employers before they reach the Final Competition.
The 12 Grand Finalists from the four cities will be divided into three groups and compete for the Grand Championship by preparing and conducting presentations based on the questions announced on the day of the Grand Final. Online voting for the most popular candidate is also available with over 50,000 votes casted for this first time ever competition.
