ACCA signed MoU with Universiti Utara Malaysia

ACCA signed MoU with Universiti Utara Malaysia

ACCA (the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Universiti Utara Malaysia on 14 May 2009 at the Ministry of Higher Education in Putrajaya.

The MoU, which covers an extensive collaboration on various initiatives such as researches, student activities, educational matters, especially in accounting and finance and others were witnessed by Yang Berhormat Dato’ Seri Mohamed Khaled Nordin, Minister of Higher Education.

ACCA Malaysia Advisory Committee (MAC) Deputy President, Devaneson Evanson said: “ACCA truly believes in smart partnership with Learning Partners to work together in achieving common goals. They do not only provide education for ACCA’s students and help us build members, but they also contribute directly to the perception of ACCA’s brand.”

According to Devaneson, the MoU demonstrates the commitment of ACCA and UUM to create borderless opportunities by providing the access to students in obtaining a global-recognised professional qualification. “We are therefore truly delighted to have the opportunity to work with reputable partner such as UUM on this MoU today,” Devaneson added further.

ACCA and UUM have been working together since 2004 when ACCA first provides accreditation to UUM’s Bachelor of Accounting (Hons) programme. The UUM’s Bachelor of Accounting (Hons) programme has been awarded with maximum exemptions from ACCA.

Tan Sri Dr Nordin Kardi, Vice Chancellor of UUM and Professor Dr Mahamad Tayib, Deputy Vice Chancellor of UUM College of Business were also present during the MoU signing ceremony.
