ACCA signs MoU with Taylor's University College
ACCA (the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants) signs a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Taylor’s University College on 27 May 2009.
The MoU is set for collaboration between the two institutions to develop programmes and initiatives to provide more opportunities for Malaysian students to have successful career in accounting and finance. Among the highlights of the MoU is the introduction of ACCA programmes at Taylor’s Business School starting July 2009.
Other key highlights includes collaboration on ACCA Accelerate programmes that allow Taylors’ students to register as ACCA students while still pursuing their degree, graduates of ACCA’s foundation programme Certified Accounting Technician (CAT) are allowed to pursue to Year 1 studies of TAYLOR’S BA (Hons) Accounting & Finance degree with 2 exemptions and ACCA’s recognition for Taylors’ Top Accountancy Students.
The MoU was signed by Mr Loy Teik Inn, Chief Operating Officer of Taylor’s Business School on behalf of Taylor’s University College and
Mr Tay Kay Luan, ACCA Director, ASEAN & Australasia on behalf of ACCA.
The MoU was witnessed by Professor Dato’ Dr Hassan Said, Vice Chancellor and President of Taylor’s University College and Dato’ Khalid Ahmad, member of ACCA Global Council.
Dato’ Khalid Ahmad, member of ACCA Global Council said: “We are indeed very pleased to be collaborating with Taylor’s University College, an institution which has built a far-reaching reputation for leadership and excellence in education over the last four decades”.
“The signing ceremony publicly marks the intention of our two organisations to work together in the important area of producing future leaders in the accounting and finance professions,” said Dato’ Khalid further.
At the ceremony Dato Khalid Ahmad also announced that the BA (Hons) Accounting and Finance from Taylor’s University College has been awarded full exemption by ACCA. With the exemption, students with this degree only need to do the remaining five papers to acquire ACCA Qualification.
