ACCA Singapore students score again
ACCA Singapore students continue to set the benchmark for excellence. ACCA Singapore is delighted to announce that for the June 2005 examinations, four students, under the ACCA/ICPAS Joint Examination Scheme have emerged worldwide paper winners.
The ACCA qualification is renowned for its quality and high standards. Scoring 100% for Paper 1.2 on Financial Information for Management were Ms Jane Lai Choy Chan and Mr Qin Sun. Ms Lim Hsueh Fang aced paper 2.5 on Financial Reporting and Ms Cheong May Yoon received the first place for Paper 3.1 on Audit and Assurance Services.
Taking the ACCA exam is no simple feat. Worldwide, over 7,500 students sat for Paper 1.2. Close to 17,000 students sat for Paper 2.5 and more than 11,000 took Paper 3.1.
Three out of the four Singapore prizewinners are university graduates. Ms Lim Hsueh Fang who has a degree in Architecture took on the ACCA because of its "recognition". Similarly, Mr Qin Sun of UOB Life Assurance who holds a degree in engineering from NTU decided to embark on the ACCA Qualification. He said: "ACCA is the most recognised accounting qualification in the world." Added Ms Cheong May Yoon, who also graduated with a degree in engineering and is currently an Associate with KPMG: "ACCA is a brand name."
Ms Penelope Phoon, Head of ACCA said: "Each year, the ACCA exams prepare thousands of students for challenging and rewarding careers in the accounting profession. I am pleased that our Singapore students continue to excel in these exams. Their dedication and academic brilliance are certainly invaluable assets to their employers.
ACCA currently has 240,000 thousand students worldwide. In Singapore, over 12,000 students are taking the ACCA Qualification.
