Mark Gold elected Vice President of global accountancy body
Mark Gold was today elected Vice President of ACCA (the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants) at the organisation’s AGM. ACCA is the largest and fastest-growing global professional accountancy body and has 325,606 students and 122,426 members in 170 countries.
Being appointed Vice President means that Mark should become President of ACCA in May 2010, after a year as deputy president in 2009.
Mark Gold said of his Vice Presidency: “I am delighted to have been elected as ACCA’s Vice President and look forward to spending the next three years working with my colleagues to further the interests of the profession.”
Mark is a senior partner at Silver Levene, the largest ACCA accountancy practice in the United Kingdom. Based in London with offices also in Bangalore and Beijing, Silver Levene is particularly well known in the entertainment and Small Business (SME) sectors. Mark has a strong entertainment and SME background and regularly speaks on these subject areas.
He has been a member of ACCA’s Council for eight years and serves as chairman of its Finance, Regulations and Creative Industries Committees and is also a member of its Small Business and UK Affairs Committee.
