My initial thoughts of CPD were mostly daunting.
However, now that I fully understand how flexible CPD can be, I believe it’s very useful to enhance and maintain my learning and development in the workplace.
I understand that keeping my knowledge and skills up to date is a necessity and very important for my learning and development.
I was gradually phased into the new ACCA CPD policy in 2006.
I initially received a letter of confirmation to explain the new policy requirements: this, together with resources and tools made available on the ACCA website allowed me to fully understand how to fulfil my CPD requirements.
I’ve faced many challenges while working at the training and conference centre.
For each challenge I have took it as an opportunity to source CPD. One of my biggest challenges was to understand the accounting implications of a company going through a period of significant financial growth.
I relied on external accountants that specialise in different areas to learn and develop from.The challenges I faced were an excellent learning opportunity for me.
A: I currently complete my annual CPD declaration in paper format as opposed to completing it online.
I also find it’s administratively easier doing so at the same time as paying my subscription fees when my subscription renewal letter arrives each November.
Yes I was selected in 2007. This review prompted me to refresh my understanding of the CPD policy requirements.
My initial reaction was to seek guidance from the ACCA website. In addition this is where I realised learning at work could count towards the CPD requirement.
