Alison Ryder wanted to gain a relevant qualification while working, and the ACCA Qualification offered the perfect opportunity. 'When I finished my A-Levels, I was keen to begin my career as soon as possible rather than spending another three years going down the university route,' Alison says, adding 'I strongly believe it is the best decision I ever made.'
As an ACCA Prize Winner, Alison knows the challenges and benefits of becoming an accountant, and has gained valuable experience since leaving school. Her employers encouraged her to undertake the ACCA Qualification, and have been there for her every step of the way; 'I have received fantastic study support.'
Alison says, 'I think that gaining the ACCA Qualification will help my working life, in particular when dealing with new clients, because it will prove I have the technical ability.' International acceptance of the qualification is also beneficial to Alison; 'it is impossible to know what opportunities might arise in my career in the future so I'm glad that the global recognition is there if I need it.'
'Clients very rarely want advice in only one area so it is useful to have an awareness of all the issues that could affect them,' she says, and through the depth and breadth of the ACCA Qualification, Alison is able to gain this knowledge.
Now, as Alison faces her final steps to complete the ACCA Qualification, she is ready for what lies ahead. 'I am very happy at Ensors...I find it exciting working for a growing firm and would like to be part of their future.' And with ACCA, Alison can be.
