ACCA is holding the MENASA Region (Middle East, North Africa and South Asia) Learning Providers’ Conference 2011 on 20 and 21 July 2011 in Sri Lanka.

ACCA’s MENASA Learning Providers’ Conference 2011, which will be held in Colombo, Sri Lanka, is designed to support ACCA’s learning providers, so they can discuss the challenges and opportunities they currently face.

Lucia Real-Martin, Director Emerging Markets Asia – ACCA, says: 'This is a timely moment to be holding this two-day conference. It will be a unique opportunity for learning providers and tutors from the region to discuss, debate and share their practices, and it will also help develop an action plan for tuition support in Sir Lanka where accountancy training and development is very popular.'

The conference will give participants the opportunity to attend presentations by training providers such as BPP, GTG and Kaplan. Workshops are also being held on the delivery of accountancy qualifications and on tuition excellence.

With this two-day event, participants will:

  • Learn about ACCA qualifications
  • Find out about ACCA resources and its futures plans
  • Discuss best practices for teaching and assessment methods
  • Gain an insight into examiner feedback on student exam performance
  • Network with tutors from around the region and ACCA representatives
  • Identify challenges and initiate solutions to help improve exam performance
  • Understand the benefits of being an Approved Learning Partner – student tuition, including the resources and support available.

Learning providers from the region have responded with enthusiasm and now the event is fully booked.  The conference delegates will be from Pakistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, India, Maldives, Japan, Indonesia, Nepal, Oman, Iran, Dubai, Bahrain, Mongolia, and Cambodia.  The resource persons will include top tutors from BPP and Kaplan and key persons from ACCA.  BPP, Kaplan and Get Through Guides who are accredited content providers for ACCA will also have stalls and conduct presentations at the conference venue.
