Ms Altyn Shakirkhanova is the new Business Development Manager for ACCA (the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants) in Kazakhstan

Announcing Ms Shakirkhanova’s appointment at ACCA, the global body for professional accountants, Lucia Real-Martin, director of emerging markets at ACCA said: 'This is an exciting development for ACCA. Kazakhstan is a growing market where there is a large and growing demand for accountancy professionals.'

As part of ACCA’s Emerging Markets Asia team, Altyn’s role as Business Development Manager will build and sustain relationships with employers, learning providers and universities that will contribute to the growth of ACCA in Kazakhstan where the professional body already has over 1,500 students and 100 members.

Lucia Real-Martin added: 'Altyn brings a wealth of relevant experience to this new post, having graduated from Kazakh State University, majoring in marketing and commerce. Altyn started her career in advertising with Almaty, working for the benefit of international clients such as Coca Cola and Colgate. During the last five years, Altyn has worked in the banking sector in Kazakhstan, and her last post was head of special retail products for ATF Bank, a member of UniCredit Group, where Altyn was responsible for new banking product strategy development, marketing and product launch.

Altyn Shakirkhanova said of her appointment: 'I’m delighted to join ACCA’s global team, as part of Lucia’s Emerging Markets Asia directorate. This is an exciting time for the accountancy profession in Kazakhstan, where there are many opportunities, as well as challenges ahead of us.'

Lucia Real-Martin concluded: 'ACCA has worked over the last two years to identify Kazakhstan as one of ACCA’s priority markets for 2012/13 and into the future. We know that with Altyn on board, we can continue to develop and support the profession in Kazakhstan.'
