Scottish Widows has been working to help people plan their financial futures since it was founded in 1815. We are now one of the most recognised brands in our market sector.  Our collaboration with the London 2012 Games reinforces both our unique position that preparation is everything "If you want to be successful in the future, you have to prepare today" and our leadership credentials and commitment to investing in the future.

We currently employ around 4,000 people: in Customer Service, Information Technology, Marketing and Distribution, Risk, Legal and Compliance, Finance and Support functions.  Our headquarters are based in the centre of Edinburgh. We have received many awards and industry recognition, including in this year alone a 5 Star Award in Life & Pensions.  We treat any award received as a huge compliment and recognition of our achievements.

Scottish Widows is recruiting for Accountancy trainees to join our Finance Division.  This is a unique opportunity for high calibre, numerate graduates to develop their careers whilst studying for the ACCA qualification. A number of placements over a three year period will enable you to gain wide ranging finance experience.  This will allow you to develop sound technical skills covering statutory and regulatory reporting, and management accounting.  In addition, you will have the opportunity to gain essential business partnering and customer service skills. The programme is aimed at equipping highly able graduates to succeed in our progressive Finance Division, to develop a long term professional career with a major employer and potentially to be a leader of the future. We will sponsor and support your studies to complete ACCA qualifications.  As an ACCA Platinum Accredited Employer, you can be assured that our training provision is of the highest standard.

If you think this is the role for you and you have a strong academic record (honour degree - 2.1), are self motivated, determined to succeed and committed to a career in Finance, then we would like to hear from you. Applications are invited from those with eligibility to work in the UK.  For further information please visit the Scottish Widows website Scottish Widows website - opens in a new window
