The ACCA Qualification closely links the Practical Experience Requirements (PER) to the syllabus, reinforcing that any capabilities you develop through the exam process will have a clear application in your workplace. And this in turn provides potential employers with independent reassurance that you are the right person for the job. It's up to you to choose the right employer to work for and gain your practical experience, but there are lots of resources available to make sure you are getting the right type of training and development.
You will need to complete three years relevant practical experience in order to achieve 13 of the performance objectives - all nine Essentials and four from 11 Options. Previous relevant experience can be used towards your three years' as long as the the work you did is linked to ACCA's performance objectives. You will also need to have that experience signed off by a mentor at your workplace. You can demonstrate that you have gained relevant experience by completing a Trainee Development Matrix (TDM).
