ACCA - The global body for professional accountants

Applications for Gold approval are invited from learning providers who demonstrate that they can meet all the Gold performance targets.

If you believe your institution is ready to apply for Gold approval, the first step is make an initial enquiry online. You will be asked for full details of your institution and the courses provided together with contact details for a staff member that ACCA can contact by email to discuss your institution's eligibility to apply.

In your application you will be asked to declare that, to the best of your knowledge, your institution meets each of the performance targets and to detail the ways in which you are able to demonstrate this.

You will be required to submit with your application any documentation that can be used to demonstrate that each of these performance targets is met.

A non-refundable application fee of £50 is payable with the application.

Before applying to become an Approved Learning Partner, you should consider carefully whether your institution meets the performance targets outlined in the performance assessment matrix. If there are any targets that you cannot meet at this time, we ask that you delay your application until you are confident that you can meet all of the targets.

Guidance on how to achieve these targets and suggested evidence documents are detailed on the Education Hub.

Access to the Education Hub is granted if you are currently working with ACCA towards achieving Gold approval and don’t yet have a user account. Please contact your local ACCA office or email and we will set this up for you.

Once your application is complete and the fee has been received, a desk based pre-approval review will be carried out followed by a pre-approval visit arranged by an ACCA representative. Before the visit, you will receive a confirmation email explaining the overall visit process.

ACCA will confirm when you are eligible to apply for Platinum approval. Gold Approved Learning Partners will become eligible to apply for Platinum approval on meeting the Platinum pass rate targets over three consecutive examination sessions. You will then be required to demonstrate that you meet all the Platinum performance targets.

Making the application

You can apply for Platinum approval through paper application form, available from the Accreditation department along with guidelines.

In your application you will be asked to detail the ways in which you are able to demonstrate the additional performance targets required for Platinum approval, and to submit any supporting documentation that can be used as evidence. No additional fee is required to apply for Platinum approval.

Platinum pre-approval visit

Once your application is complete, an ACCA representative will arrange a pre-approval visit. This may be combined with your annual Gold re-approval visit if it has not already been conducted in the year of the Platinum application.
