Achieving FCCA status

ACCA's accelerated fellowship route, which awards qualified members the FCCA designation if they are able to demonstrate that they have complied with the current CPD requirement for three years, will not be available to members after 1 January 2008. Instead, it will be replaced by a five-year automatic fellowship route.

Under this new policy, members will be awarded automatic fellowship after five-years' continuous membership and compliance with ACCA Realise – ACCA's CPD scheme. ACCA consulted with members to formulate the FCCA policy, and the response was that five-years' post qualified experience was an appropriate period within which to obtain the necessary experience to qualify for this higher level of membership, which demonstrates to employers that members have extensive experience and have made a long-term commitment to professionalism and ethics. In addition, this policy firmly establishes the link between fellowship and professional development.

Members who meet these requirements will receive a letter and certificate to welcome them to their newly awarded-FCCA position. No formal application is required.
