Mark is an equity partner at Grant Thornton, based in its London headquarters. Having started as a trainee with the firm 15 years ago and qualified with it, he then moved through the ranks to become a partner at the age of 33. 'I would like to think it was all careful career planning but as in everyone's case luck plays its part.'
Aside from work and his family, Mark's main passion is for stand-up comedy. He runs a comedy club and performs regularly - the highlight of this strand of his career being an appearance at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival.
'I guess my personal aim is to develop my niche in the media and entertainment sector and become known as the industry specialist accountant in that field in the UK.
'For accountancy as a whole, the imperative lies in protecting the integrity of the profession for the next generation.'
