James Fletcher gained membership in April after passing his final exams in February 2004. 'I chose ACCA because it is a worldwide professional qualification, easily recognised and highly respected,' he explains.
Originally from Ghana, James first worked and studied in the UK before moving to the US where he completed his ACCA exams at the same time as studying for and completing an MBA. He now works at NewAlliance Bank in New Haven, Connecticut, US. 'I moved to NewAlliance Bank in May 2004 because my former employer, HSBC Equator Bank, relocated to South Africa. I chose to stay in the US because I had my ACCA qualification, my MBA, and all the opportunities in the US that I can think of.'
