Recruitment of members of ACCA's disciplinary and regulatory committees

The ACCA Regulatory Board (the Board) recently advertised for members of ACCA's disciplinary and regulatory committees.  ACCA's panel of committee members plays a crucial role in ensuring that its objectives of fairness, impartiality and transparency are achieved in the disciplinary and regulatory regime.

The Board was looking for a balance of experience and, therefore, sought applications from qualified accountants with at least five years' post qualification experience, qualified lawyers with at least five years' post qualification experience and lay individuals (ie non-accountants and non-lawyers) with relevant experience.

Role:

  • participating in meetings of ACCA's disciplinary and regulatory committees approximately 5-6 times per year.  Committee meetings usually last one day, but may be longer
  • identifying and assimilating facts as presented and making decisions with others
  • attendance at an annual training day
  • assisting ACCA in providing robust, swift, fair and independent regulation

Candidates:

  • able to analyse and consider large amounts of written and oral evidence
  • team players with the confidence to think and act clearly under pressure

The closing date for receipt of applications was Friday 15 May 2009
