IBCC equivalence granted to ACCA's Foundation Diploma

Foundation Diploma Equivalence awarded by IBCC

As per IBCC’s notification issued on 24th February 2015, ACCA’s Foundation Diploma has been awarded with equivalence of Intermediate in commerce group in Pakistan. Following are the broad criteria approved by IBCC:

  • The candidates having SSC or GCE ‘O’ level shall be eligible for entering into the Foundation Diploma (FD)
  • Graduates (passed out of 2014 and onwards) of Foundation Diploma for equivalence of the FD to HSSC (Commerce group) will have to pass following three subject at higher secondary level from a Board of Technical Education or in case of Balochistan, the concerned Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education:
    • Business Mathematics
    • Statistics
    • Principles of Economics

IBCC Equivalence Steps

1.   Candidates must pass all seven examinations and complete module on professionalism of Foundation Diploma and submit the following documents to IBCC:

a)    Completed Application form of equivalence along with the fee. Application equivalence form is available on IBCC’s website.

b)    ACCA Foundation Diploma certificate (original & copy) and official transcripts signed and attested by ACCA Pakistan;

c)    Letter issued by ACCA Pakistan offices, confirming registration details (Name, Registration Number, Date of Birth and date of Registration)

d)   One passport sized photograph;

e)    Applicant’s copy of passport/ CNIC or Form “B” duly signed and attested by government official of grade 17 and above;

f)     One copy of applicant’s father’s CNIC attested by government official of grade 17 and above;

g)   In case of overseas students, copy of passport and VISA is required duly signed and attested by government official;

h)    Students enrolled through matriculation background in ACCA FD program MUST submit the verified Matric credentials (copy and original mark sheet and certificate). Matric result must be attested by relevant matric board.

i)     Students enrolled through GCE ‘O’ Level back ground in ACCA FD program MUST submit the O Levels (GCE certificate & statement of result along with the equivalence certificate for O Level. Documents must be attested by relevant body.

Student may like to apply simultaneously to obtain equivalency for both FD and O Level from IBCC. For details on GCE ‘O’ level equivalence requirements, please refer to IBCC’s website. (Please see: http://www.ibcc.edu.pk/Downloads/form.pdf)

2.   ACCA Offices will send all the registration and examination documents to the respective board on behalf of students.

In order to appear in additional exams, students or colleges (on behalf of students) will need to register with any Boards of Technical Education by submitting the following documents:

a)    Copy of IBCC letter/ NOC

b)   Copy of Foundation Diploma certificate

c)    Letter issued by ACCA Pakistan offices, confirming registration details (Name, Registration Number, Date of Birth and date of Registration);

d)   Official transcript of FD papers passed duly signed and stamped by ACCA Pakistan offices;

e)    A copy of Matric mark sheet verified and attested by relevant matric board.

f)     Examination form along with the correct fee. Examination forms can be downloaded from websites of respective boards.

3.    Upon passing three additional exams, students/ colleges will submit the following documents to IBCC, based on which IBCC will issue equivalence certificate to the FD students:

a)    Copy of IBCC letter/ NOC

b)   Copy of Foundation Diploma certificate

c)    Letter issued by ACCA Pakistan offices, confirming registration details (Name, Registration Number, Date of Birth and date of Registration);

d)   Official transcript of FD papers passed duly signed and stamped by ACCA Pakistan offices;

e)    A copy of Matric mark sheet verified and attested by relevant matric board.

f)     Result / mark sheet of three additional exams passed (must be verified by the relevant technical education board).   

4.    After obtaining equivalence, students will request ACCA to transfer onto the ACCA qualification.

Note:

  • As per existing IBCC’s rules, IBCC will deduct 7.5% marks from the total marks obtained on Foundation diploma exams.
  • After registering for Foundation Diploma, applicants must opt out for auto-transfer option.
