Excellence in Sustainability Reporting 2006
This report, published by Ernst and Young South Africa and adjudicated by the University of Johannesburg, looked at the standards of sustainability reporting in South Africa (in the JSE Limited's SRI Index), using G3 as one of the guides for assessing performance.
The study looks at quality of reporting only, and does not look at the quality of underlying policies, procedures and performance. The top five companies, were: Sasol, Anglo American Platimum Corporation, The Bidvest Group, BHP Billiton and Kumba Resources. Findings of the report were that the level of reporting is generally high and of a good quality. However, it was thought that work can be done in improving the relevance and usability of reports.
