- The ACCA UK Awards for Sustainability Reporting 2006 ceremony was held on 1 March at the British Library in London. It was an exciting event, with presentations from Justice Mervyn King, Prof Jan Bebbington, David Aeron Thomas and Peter Michaelis, all examining a particular area of sustainability and reporting.

- The research, called Charity Ethical Investment - policy, practice and disclosure was commissioned by the ACCA and carried out by Kreander, Beattie, and McPhail - researchers at the University of Glasgow.

- FTSE4Good, the index series designed to measure the performance of companies that meet globally recognised corporate responsibility standards, has launched a new set of climate change criteria that certain companies must meet in order to be included on the index.

- This new international partnership of seven organisations- called the Climate Disclosures Standards Board, is to establish a generally accepted framework for climate risk-related reporting by corporations.
