ACCA invited to participate in the Prince of Wales' Accounting for Sustainability Project
Roger Adams, Executive Director - Technical has been asked to participate in the Prince of Wales’ Accounting for Sustainability Project, which aims to develop systems to help organisations to measure more effectively the environmental and social costs of their actions.
The project’s first stage was a review of the current state of play in the measurement and reporting of organisational sustainability in the UK and internationally, to identify trends. These included the fact that there are relatively few practical mechanisms for managers to use to translate strategic sustainability vision into operational reality. The project team will now work to develop a range of measures for organisations to embed sustainability into their decision-making processes and report their performance in this respect more clearly and consistently.
