Disclosure of company information
26/01/07
As of 1 January 2007, the information which limited companies are required by law to disclose on their business stationery is extended to electronic media. Accordingly, the same information which companies routinely disclose on their hard copy stationery should now be disclosed on company e-mails and web sites as well as electronic invoices. This information should include the company's place of registration and registration number, the address of its registered office and, in the case of limited company exempt from the obligation to use the word 'limited' as part of its name, the fact that it is a limited company. Also, if a company is an investment company as defined in section 266 of the Companies Act 1985, that fact must be disclosed.
These changes are contained in the Companies (Registrar, Languages and Trading Disclosures) Regulations 2006.
