Sustainability Reporting Handbook
ACCA released the Sustainability Reporting Handbook: A Guide for Singaporean Companies during the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) signing ceremony with Singapore Compact for CSR on the 11 th of July 2008.
This handbook was produced in partnership with Singapore Compact for CSR and sponsored by KPMG.
This is the first sustainability reporting handbook produced by ACCA Singapore which provides guidelines for companies in Singapore to develop and produce a reporting framework based on international best practices (the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) G3 Reporting Guidelines) to assist them in communicating their impacts on their stakeholders, both external and internal. It provides illustrations with corporate report extracts, examples of best practices in sustainability reporting from companies across Asia, including CDL in Singapore, the Asian Development Bank in the Philippines and Reliance in India, amongst others. It also contains useful references and sources for further guidance and information on sustainability reporting.
The aims of the Sustainability Reporting Handbook: A guide for Singaporean companies are:
- Raise awareness of the importance of sustainability reporting to an organization
- To promote greater corporate accountability and transparency amongst Singaporean companies
- Encourage a greater interest in and practice of sustainability reporting, including the environmental, economic and social impacts a company has in the markets in which it operates
- Assist organizations in Singapore in developing a reporting framework based on international best practices (the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) G3 Reporting Guidelines) to assist them in communicating their impacts on their stakeholders, both internal and external
- Illustrate with corporate report extracts, examples of best practices in sustainability reporting from companies across Asia (including CDL in Singapore, Reliance in India amongst others)
- Provide references and sources for further guidance and information on sustainability reporting
