Corporate and Business Law (F4)

English and Global variants

The English and Global (ENG & GLO) variants for the F4 Corporate and Business Law exam are only available by on-demand CBE.

On-demand CBEs are computer-based exams that you can sit at any time of year - there's no need to wait for the next exam session. 

On-demand CBEs are not booked through ACCA. You should book and pay for these through your local on-demand CBE centre.


All other variants

All variants of the F4 Corporate Law examination other than English and Global are available as paper-based exams.

ACCA is currently withdrawing paper exams for these exams, and replacing them with session CBE exams.

A session CBE is a computer-based exam that can be taken during our four exam sessions each year in March, June, September and December.  

Whether your exam is available as a paper-based or session CBE exam will depend on your location, and the exam you want to take.

All exams at the strategic professional level are paper-based exams. These are taken during our four exam sessions each year in March, June, September and December.

Introductory Certificate in Financial and Management Accounting

  • FA1       Recording Financial Transactions
  • MA1      Management Information

Intermediate Certificate in Financial and Management Accounting

  • FA2       Maintaining Financial Records
  • MA2      Managing Costs and Finance

Diploma in Accounting and Business

  • FAB       Accountant in Business
  • FMA      Management Accounting
  • FFA       Financial Accounting

These exams are only available by on-demand CBE.

Specialist exams

The exams that comprise the Certified Accounting Technician (CAT) Qualification, and the Foundation certificates in taxation, financial management and audit

  • FTX - Foundations in Taxation
  • FFM - Foundations in Financial Management
  • FAU - Foundations in Audit

These exams are available by paper only.

Exam entry dates

Each exam session has a deadline by which you must apply if you want to sit an exam at that session. Applying early means you can take advantage of lower fees.

Once you have booked an exam, you can view the booking details, cancel the booking or amend the booking.

You must make any changes or cancellations before the standard entry deadline for the exam. No changes can be made after this date.

Exam regulations and progression rules

You can now enter more than one exam session at a time, helping you to plan ahead and take advantage of the early exam entry rate.

The following exam entry regulations also apply:

  • all deadlines for exam entry are midnight UK time
  • you cannot amend exam entries that were submitted during the late entry period
  • exam progression rules.

You should read the exam progression rules before you enter for exams.
