Putting finance into Politics
London, UK, 4 December 2014
At this year’s international public sector conference we will be discussing how to achieve sound financial management and sustainable public finances when so much of the focus is on the short-term political cycle.
We will explore what contribution financial accounting and reporting can make to effective decision-making, whether governments can be effectively held to account and whether the drive to deliver efficiencies is compromising ethical standards. This is a timely conference on how financial reporting and auditing are developing to improve decision-making, accountability and transparency for public spending.
We are delighted to announce that both Simon Hamilton, Minister of Finance, Northern Ireland, and Dr Lim Mah Hui, former professor and international banker and author of the controversial book ‘Nowhere to hide’, have agreed to speak at the conference. In addition we have an excellent line up of speakers from DFID, IFAC, Victorian Audit Office, Australia, Ministry of Finance Sri Lanka, Durham University, Manchester University and more.
It is set to be an excellent conference and we look forward to your participation. Please register for the conference by clicking the 'register now' button below.
