Health service network
ACCA has approximately 3,000 members and students working in the UK health sector. These members and students are supported by a panel of elected representatives who work in the health sector. Please see list of panel members further down this page.
One of the roles of the Panel is to assist ACCA in making representations to and influencing regulatory bodies in the sector. We would like to enlist the help of the wider Network in meeting this task. If you feel that you have the expertise to assist in this area and would like to get more involved, please contact sharon.cannaby@accaglobal.com
Carbon reduction in the NHS
ACCA has sponsored an HFMA Briefing entitled 'Carbon reduction in the NHS: a role for finance', which was published in December 2009. Download a copy of the Briefing from 'related documents' (see left).

Quarterly magazine - HEALTH SERVICE REVIEW

Policy work
ACCA undertakes various pieces of policy work, often in conjunction with other bodies such as the Department of Health, the Audit Commission or the European Commission. Recent projects include:
- Understanding Governance in the NHS
This is a three year study that ACCA is undertaking in conjunction with DH to identify current understanding of governance in the NHS. The results of the second year study is available as a 'related document' (see left). - The cost benefit of electronic patient referrals in Denmark
This report, which examines the cost benefits of using electronic means to refer patients to hospital, is one of a series of studies that ACCA is undertaking with the EC. - Health Research Forums
These forums were arranged to give a small group of senior health professionals, policy makers and academics the opportunity to meet and to debate some of the key issues surrounding the relationship between health outcomes and health expenditures. The aim was to identify a number of suitable questions that applied research could start to answer. ACCA now plans to commission a global health research project that seeks to explore at least one of the questions raised.
Facilities/Services
ACCA UK has negotiated a number of special rates on products and services which benefit its members.
