Our members are the forward-thinking professional accountants the world needs. We’re dedicated to providing the very best opportunities for our members. And we know that because you’ve qualified, it doesn’t mean that you’ve stopped learning – or wanting to add value to the organisations you work with.

The University of London recognises ACCA exams as counting towards their MSc, so as a qualified ACCA member, you would only have to complete one module and one project to get the MSc in Professional Accountancy.

Gaining this prestigious qualification – offered by one of the world’s top ten universities and the world’s most forward thinking professional body – will speak volumes for your commitment and capabilities.

The incremental cost on your ACCA Qualification for the master’s starts from £2,680, depending on where you live and how you’ll study, (whether distance or face-to-face learning). This compares very favourably to the standalone cost of studying for a master’s degree separately.

For more information on fees please visit the University of London website.

Your study path

Because you’ve already gained your ACCA Qualification and experience, you only have to complete one module and one project to get an MSc degree.

  • The module: Global Issues for the Finance Professional – Changes in the global business environment have led to fundamental shifts in the way finance professionals operate. This module gives you an understanding of the new frameworks of finance – with an emphasis on finding practical ways of evaluating the options available. The approaches you learn will be immediately applicable to your working environment.
  • The project: The Strategic Financial Project – As you carry out this project, you’ll learn business research skills and how to apply them to a simulated real world accounting and/or finance challenge. You’ll identify and analyse data about business challenges, research alternative approaches and make judgements, based on the evidence you find.

Make it count towards your CPD

One hour of learning on your MSc will be equivalent to one unit. This means that your entire MSc studies could give you your full 40 units of CPD for one year. You can even carry 21 units forward to the next year.

Who can apply for the member MSc route?

If you completed your professional exams more than five years ago, you will be required to successfully pass the University of London Professional Accountancy online preparation test: Keeping up with change: issues for the finance professional before you apply.
