Past exams and question practice

Question practice is a vital part of exam preparation. Being able to practice in the CBE environment provides a fantastic opportunity to get fully prepared for the real exam.

The ACCA Practice Platform contains a range of content that allows you to attempt questions to time and then mark and debrief your answers. It also contains a blank workspace that allows you to answer constructed response questions from other sources in the CBE environment.

Practice Platform content

  • Specimen exam

This shows how the exam will be assessed, the structured and the likely style and range of questions that could be asked. A useful resource to get familiar with the exam at the start of your studies.

  • Practice exams

These are based on past exam content and they have been updated to align with any syllabus, structure or format changes. You should try to complete two full practice exams under exam conditions as part of your revision activities.

  • Past exams

These are recent exams that allow you to practice and become more familiar with the styles of question that you may face in your exam. Use these with caution as they appear exactly as they did when the exams were set and have not been updated to reflect any changes to legislation, standards or to the syllabus.

Marking and debriefing

To take your question practice to the next level make sure you debrief your answers using the detailed marking guide contained in the practice platform.

Effectively debriefing will help you identify areas that you need to improve before the exam. You’ll be able to spot where you can improve your exam technique, as well identify any knowledge gaps. For more guidance watch our AA effective debriefing and self-marking video.
