The global body for professional accountants

Like many professionals, our members are required to complete continuing professional development (CPD) throughout their careers.

This section of our website provides a wide range of resources to help you make the most of your CPD activity. Also, look out for CPD Direct (our regular member-only e-zine), which is filled with useful CPD ideas and tips.

Our approach to CPD is designed to help you maintain and develop the knowledge and skills you need to succeed in today’s dynamic and demanding business environment.

Who has to complete CPD?

All our members who are active in the workplace are required to complete CPD on an annual basis. Retired members are exempt from CPD. New members are required to participate in our CPD programme from 1 January of the year following admittance to membership.

CPD waiver

If personal circumstances mean you cannot participate fully in CPD, you may be eligible for a CPD waiver.

Support and advice

Remember that we are here to support you. If you are concerned about any aspect of CPD and would like more help, then the CPD i-guide is a useful tool to coach you through the requirements.

Professional ethics lies at the heart of our CPD requirement. Our approach also fully complies with the CPD standard required by the International Federation of Accountants (IFAC), of which ACCA is a member.
