Under the five-year automatic fellowship policy, members will be awarded fellowship after five-years' continuous membership and compliance with ACCA's CPD scheme.

ACCA consulted with members to formulate the FCCA policy, and the response was that five-years' post qualified experience was an appropriate period within which to obtain the necessary skills and knowledge to qualify for this higher level of membership.

The FCCA status demonstrates to employers that members have extensive experience and have made a long-term commitment to professionalism and ethics.

In addition, this policy firmly establishes the link between fellowship and professional development as members need to have submitted four ‘Option A’ CPD declarations confirming that they are developing their knowledge and expertise.

There is no formal application process to achieve fellowship - members who have submitted 4 ‘Option A’ CPD declarations and are in good standing will receive a letter and a certificate to welcome them to their newly awarded-FCCA status.

FCCA certificates are sealed at a special meeting of the ACCA Council. This is usually held quarterly, therefore the sooner members submit their CPD declarations, the sooner their FCCA certificate will be sent.
