Moving with the times

Check out the recent important updates to the Ethics and Professional Skills module (EPSM), which will help you stay ahead of the curve

Moving with the times

As an integral part of the ACCA Qualification, the Ethics and Professional Skills module (EPSM) helps give you the well-rounded skills employers need. Like our exams, we continually look to evolve the module to ensure that it remains relevant to the demands of employers and supports you in the best way to ACCA membership.

That’s why we have recently launched some exciting updates to the EPSM.

What's new?

New Data Analytics Unit
Digital is arguably the biggest factor shaping the future of the profession, so we have introduced a new unit on data analytics. The new Data Analytics unit teaches you how to use commercial awareness to articulate business questions, identify and manipulate relevant data and deeply analyse such data by applying appropriate techniques. Following sceptical analysis of the data, valid conclusions can be drawn and recommendations made.

The unit also explains how findings from analysis can and should be communicated and presented, which enables relevant stakeholders to make sound business decisions and covers ethical and security issues around data analytics.

New Strategic Professional support unit
This new unit clearly explains the links between the EPSM and the Strategic Professional exams, to help support your exam performance. We already know that students who complete the module before taking these exams perform significantly better, so this unit should further aid you by explaining what the exams require in terms of professionalism and how the EPSM helps you prepare for them.

New end of module assessment
We’ve introduced a new end of module assessment that now includes a dynamic question bank. This means that students will now face different questions to each other, as questions will be randomly selected on each of the learning units from dynamic question banks. The fixed form end of module assessment remains as part of the module and has become a case study unit.
