A memorandum of understanding (MOU) has been signed between ACCA (the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants) and The State Examination Center (SEC). The SEC is a public legal entity, which conducts exams for state agencies, legal entities and individuals on a contractual basis for recruitment of civil service personnel which was established by the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan on 11 April 2016.
The SEC is already an on-demand Computer Based Exam (CBE) exam centre for ACCA in Azerbaijan, and so this new agreement will formalise an existing working relationship with the aim of;
The SEC will be provided with access to relevant ACCA resources such as professional insights research, and both bodies will explore potential opportunities for learning and development initiatives in areas such as professional competencies, skills and technical knowledge.
Both organisations will also look to develop strategies and marketing campaigns to promote collaboration between them, working in collaboration on joint engagements and outreach to promote and create awareness about ACCA Qualifications and its Certifications.
Magdalena Krupa-Hernandez, Director - Eurasia and New Markets at ACCA said: ‘The ultimate aim of this MOU is to organise joint programmes that will support the training and development of students for successful careers in accountancy and finance. This agreement is all about supporting the development of the profession in Azerbaijan and aligns with ACCA’s strategy to work with other organisations to do so. We’re delighted to sign this agreement and align with the SEC team.’
Maleyka Abbaszade, Chairperson of SEC adds: ‘This MOU builds on an already strong working relationship with ACCA. The accountancy profession has a key role to play in the economic development of Azerbaijan, and so our joint work will help to further that need and meet future demand for young people looking to join the profession.
