We'll be showcasing our partnerships and cutting-edge research, playing our leading role in shaping the future of the accountancy profession.

  • Emotional quotient in a digital age

To the casual observer, emotions and accountancy can seem like unrelated concepts from two separate worlds. But to succeed in a fast evolving digital age, professional accountants need a rounded set of skills that go beyond technical knowledge, including emotional intelligence.

Our new report, launching at WCOA, reveals that emotional competencies are integral to becoming a trusted and able professional accountant – someone who can combine analytical rigour with emotional maturity.

  • Ready for robots?

On day one of the conference we will be running Robotics: unlocking the automation prize in finance – a two hour session that cuts through the confusion and dispels the myths that exist around robotics and finance automation.

On the back of ground-breaking research join ACCA, CA ANZ and a number of the world’s leading technology brands we bring robotics to life in practice, have fun with our new virtual co-workers, and feel confident and inspired about the digital opportunities for the future finance team.

  • Global economics

On the second day of the conference we will present a 20 min expo session, Riding the waves of the global economy. This will be a data extravaganza that shows how the biggest quarterly economic survey of accountants can help you navigate between economic fear and economic confidence

For almost a decade ACCA and IMA have taken the economic ‘pulse check’ of accountants around the world every three months. The Global Economic Conditions Survey (GECS) is the biggest economic survey of its kind, measuring a range of important indicators such as confidence, employment and government spending expectations.
