Probate activities: ACCA submits formal application to Legal Services Board
ACCA submitted its final application to introduce approved regulator regulatory arrangements for probate activities to the Legal Services Board (LSB) on 23 October 2017.
A copy of the application can be downloaded from the 'related downloads' area on this page.
In accordance with the LSB’s rules for rule change applications on receipt of ACCA’s application, the LSB had 28 days (the initial decision period) to either grant the application, or serve on ACCA a notice stating that the LSB is considering whether to refuse the application.
The LSB conducted an initial assessment of ACCA’s application and concluded that it required additional time to properly and thoroughly consider the issues that are relevant to our application, so that it may effectively discharge its obligations under Schedule 4 to the Legal Services Act 2007 Act. Consequently, the LSB issued an Extension Notice under Part 3 of Schedule 4 to the Act which extended the initial decision period by 90 days to 19 January 2018.
ACCA engaged with the LSB during this extended decision period providing them with further information. The final decision notice approving our regulatory arrangements became effective 18 January 2018.
