Senior public sector finance leader Elaine Boyd and Fellow of ACCA (the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants) is the new chair of ACCA Scotland’s committee.
Glasgow-based Elaine is the associate director at Audit Scotland where she heads the organisation’s quality assurance team, driving and upholding standards for the auditors of around £57 billion of annual spending.
Listed in the Shaw Trust Disability Power 100, Elaine is a passionate advocate for the inclusion agenda in Scotland, and is an active supporter of charity work for Cerebral Palsy Scotland, Riding for the Disabled and Disability Snowsports UK.
Speaking of her role as chair of the committee, Elaine says: ‘I am delighted to be taking on this role for the benefit of our members and students in Scotland.
‘As we slowly come out of the pandemic, the accountancy profession will be in demand and I believe there is much more value we can bring to Scotland’s economy. This aspiration will very much be part of the committee’s agenda, alongside that of ensuring ACCA’s values of inclusion, innovation are integrity are brought to life.’
Susan Love, strategic engagement lead for ACCA Scotland adds: ‘Elaine brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to this role, both as a champion for the accountancy profession and for inclusion. Elaine sees the opportunities ahead for accountants in the public sector and also in business, and I look forward to working with her and other committee members to deliver ACCA’s strategy in Scotland.’
