Commenting on his appointment, Mr Lee said: ‘It’s an honour to be elected to this position, and I thank my colleague Brian McEnery for his time as President over 2016 /17.
‘If I could achieve one thing during my presidency, it would be to build a better world for everybody through education. I will champion ACCA’s core values of accountability, diversity, integrity, innovation and especially opportunity; the opportunity the ACCA Qualification offers and the opportunities the profession creates. As a member of ACCA for over 40 years now, I have seen first-hand and from my own experience of how the ACCA Qualification provides immense opportunities and how it changes lives and transforms economies.
‘It’s now my chance to champion ACCA’s open access policy – I am proud that we open doors for everyone with the motivation to succeed on their ACCA journey.’

He has also held various posts in the Securities and Futures Commission (SFC) Hong Kong, including director of corporate planning, director of licensing and director of finance and administration.
Leo received his accountancy education Hong Kong Polytechnic University, and he also has an LLB degree from the University of London and an MBA from the University of Hong Kong.
