ACCA and Datamaran agree MOU

A memorandum of understanding (MOU) has been signed between ACCA (the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants) and Datamaran, the only software analytics platform in the world that identifies and monitors external risks, including Environmental, Social, and Corporate Governance (ESG).

The purpose of the agreement will be to:

  • work together on key projects including research reports, policy activities and events
  • share joint insights with ACCA members, future members and other ACCA stakeholders
  • use Datamaran’s patented technology and data-driven insights to inform relevant online learning activities for ACCA members and future members to support their training and development.

Mike Suffield, director of Professional Insights at ACCA says: ‘We have come to know the great work of Datamaran through collaboration over the last two years. Our MOU formalises our working relationship with the aim of helping our members, students and other stakeholders better understand the sustainability agenda and associated risk management issues.

‘At a time when better understanding around the quality of non-financial disclosures, the activity of regulators and the voice of civil society have never been more critical in assessing how organisations and economies function, the ability to collaborate with Datamaran enables us to use analytics to truly uncover the contours of the new risk landscape.’

Marjella Alma, CEO and co-founder of Datamaran adds: ‘The accountancy profession has a key role to play in understanding, monitoring and acting on external risks such as climate change and so our work with ACCA will have this as a key focus for 2021 when COP26 will take place. We look forward to delivering on our MOU.’
