Is the accountancy profession ready to rethink business sustainability?

ACCA’s annual flagship Accounting for the Future virtual conference is back at the end of November. The theme this year is ‘Rethinking sustainable business’.

ACCA (the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants) will be hosting this year’s Accounting for the Future (AFF) virtual event on 23 - 25 November 2021.

The online conference is ideal for anyone wanting to hear about the issues and challenges - and opportunities - facing the accountancy profession and finance professionals globally.

There will be sessions based on insights and advice from experts relating to the aftermath of the UN COP26 climate change conference, technological trends, audit reform, the global economy, as well as wellbeing in the workplace.

ACCA’s chief executive, Helen Brand, will host the opening session on ‘Rethinking sustainable business’ alongside Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand’s chief executive Ainslie van Onselen and CFA Institute’s chief executive Marg Franklin.

Helen Brand says: ‘Our annual conference will include a wide range of engaging issues, including the global economy, artificial intelligence, risk management and wellbeing, after what has been yet again an incredibly challenging year.

‘It will also explore the key role professional accountants have to play in driving forward positive action on the climate and sustainability.

‘Experts will be offering enjoyable learning and development opportunities - providing tools and knowledge to ensure professional accountants - whether they work in business, practice or the public sector – can survive, thrive and drive forward the success of their businesses and organisations.’

For the full conference agenda, please visit ACCA’s website. There are still places, so do register for the event where members can earn up to 20 units of CPD.

AFF will be followed by ACCA’s Virtual Public Sector Conference on 1 and 2 December.
