ACCA (the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants) has recognised Bonnie Chan, FCCA, with its Regional Advocate of the Year Award for China.
Bonnie was lauded for her passionate mentorship of university students, sharing her invaluable experience and insights with the next generation from different backgrounds and perspectives, offering advice to those who seek her support.
Ada Leung, ACCA director – China, said,
“Bonnie is a model FCCA focussed on the community having been involved in the ACCA Charity and Annual Dinner Task force in 2019 and 2020 and offered a lot of ideas and support in various initiatives by ACCA Hong Kong, including coaching the finalist teams of the ACCA Business Competition, sharing experience with the future generation of the profession. Even after her relocation to Canada, her bond with ACCA Hong Kong remains strong, supporting our virtual events as well as advocating ACCA via social media platforms.”
“Bonnie is a true believer in ACCA’s values and lives it out in her career and with the advocacy she offers. With her passion for ACCA and the profession, I believe that she will continue to contribute as a brilliant ACCA Advocate in Canada, inspiring her peers and the younger generation to thrive in their accountancy career. Congratulations on this wonderful achievement.”
Bonnie Chan, said, “The ACCA Qualification has equipped me not only with the technical knowledge but also the professional insights on business trends such as technology, which paved the way for me to transform my career from a traditional accounting role to becoming a strategic business partner. I’m proud to be recognised as an advocate of a strong global brand like ACCA, and will carry on my commitment to contributing to the accountancy profession with ACCA without geographical limit.”
ACCA launched the regional advocacy awards in 2017 to recognise members who go above and beyond in expressing public support for the accountancy profession, encouraging others and embodying ACCA's values: Inclusion, Integrity and Innovation. These three values exemplify the unique reasons why ACCA was created in the first place, and the difference ACCA has brought to the global profession, and expresses them in a way that reflects our world today. Advocates are also members who deliver public value, display ethical professionalism and inspire others to follow in their footsteps.
The Advocacy Awards are not just about career achievement; but about the way that ACCA members give back to their communities, and help ACCA to develop the next generation of professional accountants.
