Consultation: Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan’s (SECP) Gender Equality Policy 2025–2028.

ACCA welcomes the opportunity to provide feedback on the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan’s (SECP) Gender Equality Policy 2025–2028 (the “Policy”).

Throughout our 121-years history, ACCA’s provided opportunity to people of talent and application regardless of their background – including those from under-represented backgrounds (including gender, ethnicity, religion, socio-economic). We believe that an equal society values the contributions of all irrespective of any individual characteristics. We stand for equality in progression, without barriers or bias. In 1909, ACCA made history by becoming the first professional accountancy body to admit wome, with Ethel Ayres Purdie becoming its first female member.

We congratulate the SECP on the development of this Policy. It is thoroughly researched, thoughtfully structured, and represents a significant step towards embedding genderinclusive reforms within Pakistan’s capital markets and the broader regulatory landscape.

To ensure that practical insights inform our feedback on the responsiveness and potential impact of the Policy, ACCA convened a focus group discussion with members representing diverse industries, levels of experience, and areas of expertise.
