ACCA UK’s annual conference, this year with the theme ‘Shaping the future’, saw 200 delegates from across the country convene at the Congress Centre in London in March.

Topics included how global economic confidence is impacting the economy, with Deloitte’s chief economist in the UK Ian Stewart; how businesses are adapting to change, featuring Jaguar Land Rover’s FD Michael Mills FCCA and Greggs’ head of business finance and strategy Duncan Smith FCCA; managing a diverse workforce, with 118118.com’s FD Helen Morgan FCCA and HR Hero for Hire’s founder Shakil Butt FCCA; and commercial awareness in a new business landscape, with Wolverhampton Wanderers FC’s CFO Rita Purewal FCCA.

There was also a panel discussion on how businesses are shaping the future, with Nio UK’s FD Rob Walker FCCA, IBM global business services’ CFO Donna Wheeler FCCA, and Babylon Health’s FD Christèle Brouste FCCA.
